Stade de Reims secured the Ligue 2 title and a return to the French top flight after beating Ajaccio 1-0 on Friday night.
Grejohn Kyei’s solo goal in the 76th minute was enough to put Reims 13 points clear of Nimes, who drew away to Bourg-Peronnas, with all of their fellow contenders having four games remaining.
Reims will now return to Ligue 1 after a two-year absence. The six-time French champions had been relegated after finishing 18th in the 2015-16 season.
