Thiago Motta will move into a coaching position with Paris Saint-Germain’s under-19 team this summer, a source has told ESPN FC.
When Motta signed a one-year contract extension last summer, part of the 35-year-old’s deal was a coaching role when he ended his playing career, which seems likely to happen at the end of the season.
Francois Rodrigues has confirmed his exit as coach of PSG’s reserve side, while the source indicated that Herve Guegan is expected to leave as under-19s coach.
The source added that former player Zoumana Camara is in contention for the reserves, with Motta lined up for the under-19s.
Motta made 30 appearances in Ligue 1 for PSG last term but has only added 13 more outings in what has been an injury-hit season.
