Transfer Talk: Bayern remain interested in Chelsea’s Colwill

The summer transfer window won’t reopen in Europe for a few more weeks, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Bayern interested in Chelsea’s Colwill

Bayern Munich are continuing to keep tabs on Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, with the German club considering alternative targets to Bayer Leverkusen‘s Jonathan Tah, reports Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg.

Bayern are reportedly keen to add to their defensive options this summer. The German side are understood to have an interest in Colwill, who they have kept in contact with in the hopes of securing a deal.

It is reported that the German giants have also kept in contact due to negotiations stalling for Tah.

The tweet suggests that whilst agreeing a deal for Tah is a priority for Bayern, they are not close to reaching an agreement with Leverkusen leaving Bayern to consider alternative targets.

Colwill impressed on loan spells with Huddersfield Town and Brighton & Hove Albion, which led the 21-year-old to enjoy regular playing time at Stamford Bridge last season. Colwill featured 32 times across all competitions for the Blues last campaign, attracting the attention of clubs across Europe.

One of the individuals Colwill has caught the eye of is new Bayern manager Vincent Kompany. It is reported that the Belgian holds the defender in high regard, however, it is unknown whether the club will push for a deal, with an agreement for Tah still in the works.

PAPER GOSSIP

Fulham have identified Fluminense midfielder André as a potential replacement for João Palhinha, reports TeamTalk. Palhinha looks increasingly likely to depart the Premier League outfit for Bayern Munich, who have been long-term admirers of the playmaker. The 22-year-old was subject to interest in January and last summer, but Fluminense rejected the approaches from Fulham. The report suggests that André is eager to secure a move to the Premier League with Fluminense potentially now more open to facilitating a departure.

Juventus are monitoring Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior ahead of a potential summer approach, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport. Juventus are keen to add to their defensive options in the summer transfer window and have identified Bologna‘s Riccardo Calafiori as an ideal option. However, the report suggests that this deal could be difficult to strike, which has led the Italian outfit to consider alternative options. The Poland international is reportedly open to a return to Serie A and could represent a more straightforward option to Juventus.

– Bayern Munich have finalised a deal for VfB Stuttgart defender Hiroki Ito, reports Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg. It is reported that the Bavarian club will trigger Ito’s release clause of roughly €30 million, in a deal that will see the Japan international under contract with Bayern until 2028. The tweet indicates that this deal will be completed regardless of Bayern’s success in pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, where negotiations are still ongoing.

– Fulham are showing interest in Luton Town defender Teden Mengi, reports the Evening Standard. Fulham are in the market for defensive additions, having lost Tosin Adarabioyo to rivals Chelsea on a free transfer. It is reported that Mengi has emerged as a target for the Cottagers, who were keen on agreeing a deal in January. Alongside Fulham, the 22-year-old is also reportedly of interest to Crystal Palace, with Luton potentially under pressure to part ways with the defender, following their relegation from the Premier League.

Atletico Madrid are eyeing up a move for Barcelona forward Vitor Roque, reports Sport. Barcelona are reportedly keen to secure a permanent move for Atleti’s João Félix, with the report suggesting that a move could be structured to facilitate Roque joining Diego Simeone’s side. However, it is reported that this deal could be difficult to reach, as the player is keen on staying with Barcelona. The 19-year-old could depart the Catalan giants this summer, as the Spanish outfit are having difficulties registering the player, with FC Porto also monitoring Roque’s situation.
