Transfer Talk: Man Utd eye Rashford stay as PSG interest cools

The summer transfer window won’t reopen in Europe for a while yet, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Man Utd prefer to keep Rashford amid speculation

Manchester United are only willing to move on forward Marcus Rashford this summer if he asks to leave, according to the Athletic.

It is reported that while the Old Trafford hierarchy would prefer to keep the 26-year-old, they are prepared to accept a significant offer for his services.

Rashford is among multiple players that have been linked with a possible exit from the club, though the latest indicates that he remains part of the club’s future project, having signed a five-year contract last year that keeps him secured until June 2028.

He has made 40 appearances across all competitions for manager Erik ten Hag this season but is on course for one of his lowest scoring Premier League campaigns with seven scored across 31 matches.

Recent reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain have cooled their interest after previously being linked with the England international.

Atletico Madrid would prefer a permanent exit for forward João Félix this summer, reports Sport. Felix is currently on loan at Barcelona, who are interested in signing the 24-year-old, and it is reported that talks will take place to see whether a deal can be done between the two clubs, with a possible player exchange that would see Ferran Torres make the switch to the Wanda Metropolitano.

Adelaide United‘s conveyor belt of talent is firing up again, with 18-year-old Musa Toure set to join an unnamed Ligue 1 club on a four-year deal, reports FTBL. With fellow youngster Nestory Irankunda already on his way to Bayern Munich, Toure is the latest Reds product heading to Europe. Musa will join his older brothers Mohamed Toure (on loan at Paris FC from Stade de Reims) and Al Hassan Toure (AC Ajaccio) in France.

– Advanced talks are underway between Mexico international Hirving Lozano and San Diego FC, writes the Athletic. The MLS expansion team, who will make their league debut in 2025, are reported to be prepared to make an offer worth $12 million to land the 28-year-old, amid hopes of signing him before the Copa America begins in the summer.

– A meeting has been held between Bayern Munich and winger Leroy Sané amid plans to offer him a new contract, according to Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg. The 28-year-old is reported to be keen to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, with his current contract set to expire in 2025.

– Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has confirmed that he has no plans to leave the club this summer, reports Sport Bild. The 35-year-old striker has previously been on the radar of clubs in Saudi Arabia, but in an interview with the newspaper said: “Saying goodbye [to Barcelona] is definitely out of the question for me. I want to keep playing.”

Villarreal midfielder Álex Baena remains on the radar of Barcelona, reports Mundo Deportivo. He is believed to be a realistic option for this summer after the decision of Blaugrana manager Xavi Hernandez to remain at the club and could be signed if the Barca meet the 22-year-old’s release clause of €66m. He has been in bright form in LaLiga this season, having assisted 12 goals while scoring another two in 30 appearances for the Yellow Submarine.
